Chris Brown Submits Bombshell Evidence in $90 Million War Over Alleged Dog Attack at L.A. Mansion

Chris Brown submitted bombshell evidence as part of his defense in the $90 million lawsuit brought by his ex-housekeeper over an alleged dog attack that she claims left her disfigured, In Touch can exclusively report.

On Tuesday, April 22, the entertainer fired back at his former housekeeper Maria Avila, who recently demanded she be allowed to gain information about his finances as part of her $90 million lawsuit.

In court documents obtained by In Touch, Chris, 35, and his legal team asked the court to shut down Maria’s attempt to obtain discovery about his financial condition ahead of their upcoming trial.

In her lawsuit, Maria claimed she was working with her sister at Chris’ home in Los Angeles on December 12, 2020. She claimed while taking out the trash a large Caucasian Ovcharka shepherd dog named Hades attacked her.

Maria, who included photos of her injuries as evidence, claimed Hades mauled her face and arms. She said she has permanent disfigurement among other issues.

As part of the case, Maria slammed Chris for his actions in the immediate aftermath of the alleged attack. She accused him of doing “absolutely nothing” to help her. Chris denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

He accused Maria of being responsible for any alleged injuries she suffered on the day in question.

The singer’s lawyer argued, “The injuries complained of by [Maria] were proximately caused by [Maria’s] misconduct in that she willfully and voluntarily teased, abused, or mistreated the dog and thereby provoked the attack.”

In his latest filing, Chris revealed new information to back up his defense. He claimed that Maria claimed in her lawsuit that he did nothing to help her.

“This is patently false, as indicated by the statements [Maria] herself made to Animal Control Officer Angela Hooks in the days following the incident,” Chris’ lawyer wrote.

Chris’ lawyer claimed the City of Los Angeles Department of Animal Services Investigation Report indicated that Maria reported that there was no one outside with her to witness the incident, but Chris and a security guard “responded to her screams.”

“She further indicated that [Chris] called the paramedics and put the dog, Hades away,” his lawyer continued.

The lawyer added, “Instead of ‘doing nothing,’ as [Maria’s] motion so contends, [Chris] ran to [Maria’s] aide, called the paramedics to come tend to her and even removed the dog from the area, perhaps putting himself in danger by doing so.”

Chris also argued that he had no knowledge that Hades posed any sort of threat, despite Maria claiming the dog had a history of issues.

Chris’ filing read, “According to Jordan Gaspar, a member of Mr. Brown’s security team, as documented in the Animal Services Investigation Report referenced above, Hades had never exhibited any dangerous tendencies or shown any signs of aggression; he was ‘always playful and gentle.’”

Emil Lewis, another member of Chris’ security team, said he was the actual owner of Hades. He said that he told Maria and her sister on multiple occasions not to leave the house unattended, “because the dogs would wander the property and were not familiar with either of the women; either dogs or the women could be scared.”

Chris Brown’s Housekeeper

“[Chris’] security team explicitly instructed [Maria] and her sister not to go outside unattended, and [Maria] blatantly disobeyed this instruction, causing this unfortunate incident to occur,” Chris’ lawyer added. “As indicated by the foregoing, [Maria’s] Motion is riddled with wild exaggerations and false accusations in an attempt to build up some semblance of a claim for punitive damages against Defendant.”

“Ultimately, her strategy has failed, and none of her assertions, even had they been true, amount to the malice, fraud, or oppression required to establish a valid claim for punitive damages.”

Chris asked that Maria not be allowed to gain information on his finances before the upcoming trial. A judge has yet to rule.
